How many of these are you?

Nobody's all five. Most people are two or three. If that's you, the rest of this page is going to explain a lot.

01You're up at least once a night and there's no position that fixes it
02You get two good hours at your desk, then you're shifting in the chair
03You're snapping at people who don't deserve it because you're running on nothing
04You think about your back before you sit down on the floor with your kids
05You've stopped calling it an injury and started calling it your back

If two or more landed, here's the part nobody's told you: this isn't a back problem. It never was.

The reason

Why nothing
has stuck

Stretching. Physical therapy. A $900 chair. Ibuprofen. Every one of them goes after what hurts. Not one of them goes after what caused it.

01

Hip flexors shorten

02

Glutes switch off

03

Core weakens

04

Back takes the load

Eight hours of sitting adds one more link to that chain every single day. Your back is the last link, so your back is what screams. Rebuild the first three and the load stops landing somewhere it was never built to go.

The system

Twelve weeks
three phases

The order matters more than the exercises. Load a joint that can't move properly yet and you'll be right back here in six months wondering what went wrong. Each phase buys you the next one.

01

Foundation

Weeks 1 to 4

Fifteen minutes a day. We open the hips, switch the glutes back on, and get your core holding position under load again. Nothing heavy. Nothing you need equipment for. This is the phase everybody skips, and skipping it is why they're still in pain.

Real relief by week 4
02

Strengthen

Weeks 5 to 8

Progressive loading built around a desk job, not a gym schedule. We're on a call every week and I'm watching you move, because six weeks of a bridge you're doing with your hamstrings is worse than six weeks of nothing.

A full day, no bracing
03

Maintain

Weeks 9 to 12

The whole thing compresses down to about five minutes a day. More to the point, you walk out knowing your own back well enough to catch it in week one instead of month six, and knowing exactly what to do when you do.

What changes

What you're
actually buying

Nobody wants pain relief. They want the things pain took off the table. Here's what twelve weeks is aimed at.

Sleep

Down to one wake-up or none, and mornings that don't start with twenty minutes of moving carefully until things free up.

Work

The whole day at your desk without the 2pm stretch break that never quite does anything.

Family

Down on the floor, kid on your shoulders, groceries in one trip. Without running the math first.

Control

You know what your back needs and how to give it that. A bad week stays a bad week instead of turning into a bad year.

Fit

Who this works for

This is you if

  • You're at a desk for most of your working day
  • This built up over months or years, it didn't happen in one moment
  • You've had treatment that worked, right up until it didn't
  • You can give it fifteen minutes a day and one call a week
  • You want to know why it happened, not only make it stop

This isn't you if

  • It started suddenly after a fall, a crash, or a heavy lift
  • You've got numbness, weakness, or any change in bladder or bowel control
  • You want something done to you rather than something you do
  • You need it gone in two weeks
  • Your physician has told you to hold off on exercise

Questions

Before you ask

How's this different from physical therapy?+
Physical therapy is built around the flare-up sitting in front of it, which is exactly why the relief lasts days and not months. This goes after the pattern underneath the flare-up over twelve weeks, with a call every week so the work between sessions actually happens. It doesn't replace hands-on care when you need it. It's the part that usually gets left out.
Can't I find these exercises free online?+
You can, and you probably already have. What isn't online is the order, the timing of each progression, and someone telling you that your glute bridge is being run by your hamstrings. That last one is the whole difference between four weeks of progress and four weeks of digging the hole deeper.
Does the pain come back after week 12?+
That's the entire reason phase three exists. You finish with a short daily routine you'll actually keep doing and enough understanding of your own body to catch a problem early. Nobody's back gets permanently fixed. It gets managed well or managed badly, and the point is that you're managing yours well without me.
How much time does this really take?+
Fifteen minutes a day for the first four weeks, about twenty for the next four, five minutes after that, plus one call a week. If you're already spending ten minutes a day on stretches that aren't working, this barely moves the needle on your schedule.
I've quit things like this before.+
So has nearly everyone who signs up. That's the actual argument for coaching over a video course. A weekly call with someone who's expecting you moves adherence more than any exercise selection ever will, and adherence is what decides how this ends.
What if it isn't working?+
Start weekly and stop whenever you want. No contract, so you're never more than seven days into a decision you regret. And if I think at any point that you need imaging or a physician instead of an exercise program, you'll hear it from me on the call, not three months in.
